This Greenway follows the route of the decommissioned Monção branch line. It has received various awards and distinctions, including the prize for the 3^rd Best European Greenway at the 8^th European Green Awards, held in Ireland in 2017.

The track offers circuits running through vineyards and agricultural fields along the Minho River, as well as the fishing spots and river beaches that are part of the Nature 2000 Network. Visitors can enjoy the outstanding local architectural, cultural and gastronomic heritage, as well as rich and diverse fauna and flora at the Special Protection Zone of the Estuaries of the Minho and Coura Rivers.

Don’t forget to visit the National Railway Museum at Valença, installed in the old locomotive shed at Valença station. Among other significant, beautiful and historic rolling stock, visitors can also view the famous locomotive CP 23.

Enjoy crossing the metal bridge over the Gadanha River and appreciate the stunning landscapes from the Troporiz Viewpoint, overlooking the Minho River and Galicia.
